The bet unit is the practical link between a bankroll, the total set aside for play, and how long a session runs plus the variance it can absorb. A worked example

Staking ₱20 per spin — a 1% bet unit — against a ₱2,000 bankroll can withstand roughly 100 losing spins before it runs dry. Only 20 spins are absorbed by that same bankroll when ₱100 per spin — 5% — is staked. The common misreading
